The 2008 Queer Youth Leadership Awards took place on April 26th, 2008 at New Brighton Middle School in Capitola, CA. This was the first time that the QYLA took place at a middle school and we were very proud to have the support of Soquel Elementary School District as our host. Over 200 people attended the event to honor the awardees and nomninees for the 11th Annual Queer Youth Leadership Awards. The event was so successful that it sold out and extra chairs had to be added to accomodate the high attendance. After the event, which included a catered dinner, desert and an astounding lineup of entertainment, speeches and performances, the dinner tables were cleared for a dance.
